The main reason for our visit was to visit the Christmas Market which is one of the largest we have seen. At other times of the year there appear to be plenty of other places to visit and activities in the city or surrounding area. We ate out twice there - are certainly a lot more restaurants to try!

Arras has two beautiful squares - the Grande Place and the Place des Heros. The architecture is beautiful and the belfry and museum are very interesting. As well as some great shops, there's a very extensive market on a Saturday morning each week. At the moment there's a large and varied Christmas market each afternoon and evening. The surrounding area is of particular interest for details (and cemeteries) from the first world war.
The centre of Arras isn't large so it's easy to walk from place to place.

We went to Arras to go to the Christmas market, which was lovely. The buildings and streets were beautifully decorated too. We also visited the the Town Hall (where the tourist office is located), Les Boves and the Art Gallery. Unfortunately the Cathedral was closed as it was a Monday. There are many good restaurants, coffee shops and bars; we had a lovely lunch in Couleur des Champs restaurant, near the Grand Place.
This place has a lot of character, very quirky and idiosyncratic. Lovely room with lots of facilities, kitchenette, super rainforest shower. Easy walk into the town squares for drinks and dinner, close to the station but the trains didn't bother us at all. Wonderful host and breakfast, great selection of interesting and local produce, really made us feel at home. Will definitely stay here again when passing through Northern France en route to elsewhere.
We spent the last night of our holiday in France in this apartment. The experience was perfect in every way. We were met by Guillame who let us in and explained everything about the accommodation. Guillame's English was perfect by the way. It was an easy walk to a restaurant in Arras in the evening and it was great to have breakfast in the morning before our journey home. We were able to park on the road outside the accommodation overnight.
Perfect appartment, very well equipped, good location a short stroll into the town centre, on-street parking outside was easy and mostly free (just pay for a couple of hours during the day if leaving the car there all day), mod-cons and lovely artwork. The DIY breakfast buffet was a real bonus, thank you.
Very good accommodation on the outskirts of Arras but within easy walking distance of the centre. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. There was a very good selection of food for breakfast. There is also a very good Patisserie next to the hotel for fresh pastries, baguettes and croissants.
Nice spacious modern hotel close to the centre with parking nearby. Dinner & breakfast were good the room was very comfortable & clean & the bar is nice. Staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Perfect place for a stop over for us en route back to Calais.
We had a very nice welcome. The room was perfect; just exactly what we were looking for; it was clean and quiet, and comfortable. Our friend had another room on the floor above which was even better! I will definitely book again when I'm next in Arras.
Stylish boutique hotel in the middle of Arras with private off street parking, excellent breakfast and delicous evening meal in the adjacent restaurant with a hotel guest discount. Recommended
The space was very comfortable, everything you need.
Extremely clean, very close to the town and on Saturday there is a great market in the centre.
Only a 15minutes walk.
Secure car park.
Located just off le Grand Place. Compact but with all that you need. Clean, comfortable and a real find! We've always used hotels before in Arras but this will now be our first choice.
Basic comfortable place to stay overnight on way through France. Good breakfast. In centre of town so easy walk to bars, restaurants, etc.. also plenty of parking nearby.
